Ram 2500

Every now and then, a truck rolls out of the Thor Mechanical workshop that completely blows the owner away. This striking red RAM 2500 is exactly one of those builds. When the keys were handed back, the owner was absolutely stoked with the transformation, giving us the ultimate shout-out for turning his rig into a heavy-duty touring masterpiece. Built with a clear mission in mind, this truck was engineered from the ground up for serious towing, carrying heavy gear, and conquering long-distance caravan trips without breaking a sweat.

A massive Stage 4 GVM upgrade package pushing this RAM 2500 to a 5550kg with out braking a sweat. Fox 2.5 Performance Elite Series shocks on the front and rear and Offroad Industries springs brings the hight and capacity. 

To complement the upgraded weight capacity, we fitted a Fox 2.0 ATS Stabiliser and a BDS Rear Adjustable Track Bar to keep the steering razor-sharp and tracking straight. For maximum control when hitched up, a Boss Airbag rear air suspension system was installed, complete with an in-cab controller so the ride height can be adjusted on the fly.

Under the bonnet, we gave the Cummins diesel the breathing room it deserves with a Banks Monster Ram Air Intake, a Banks Boost Tube, and a PPE Transmission Thermal Bypass paired with a PPE deep pan transmission pan to keep fluid temps ice-cold.

A Banks Pedal Monster was added to sharpen up throttle response when overtaking with a heavy van behind. For reliability in the middle of nowhere, we loaded it up with a heavy-duty drivetrain setup featuring a Banks differential cover and an ARB Air Locker front differential locker for ultimate traction on the tracks.

When it comes to remote touring, power and storage are everything. The back of the truck is a masterpiece of utility, featuring an Offroad Industries Roller Shutter over the Rambox tub, topped with an Offroad Creative Tub Life Tub Rack.

We loaded the rack with STEDI micro LEDs and an EcoXgear SoundExtreme Elite Soundbar for the ultimate campsite setup. Powering all the gear is a dual battery system running an iTech100ss battery and a RedArc Smart Start, feeding a dedicated 12-volt cab power supply. Up front, a colour-coded Offroad Creative Bull Bar houses three lethal STEDI Type-X lights, a Lazer Lamp light bar, and a heavy-duty Carbon Winch for absolute peace of mind.

An ARB Twin Air Compressor takes care of tyre inflation, while a massive Titan long-range fuel tank ensures the owner can bypass the outback service stations for days on end. Rounded out with Husky Extenda Flares painted to match for clean, legal tyre coverage, custom mudflaps, a GME Connect 4WD pack, an Anderson plug, and a Switch Pro 8-panel controller in the cab to manage all the electronics, this red beast is officially ready for the open road.
