Ram 2500 Yellowstone Edition

This Ram 2500 Yellowstone Edition rolled into Thor Mechanical already wearing its TV-ready swagger. Blacked-out accents, premium leather, big screens and even bigger attitude straight out of the rugged world of Yellowstone. But while this truck came branded for drama, it was ready for a serious performance upgrade to match the reputation. So we saddled it up, cracked our knuckles and got to work turning this limited-edition rig into a full-blown powerhouse worthy of the series it’s named after.

We kicked things off under the bonnet with a heavy-hitting list of Banks Power gear. The Monster Ram Intake, Ram Airbox, Boost Tubes and Pedal Monster all tighten up throttle response and airflow, while the Banks Ram Air Differential Cover keeps temps cooler when it’s working hard. To strengthen its heart for long-haul hauling, we fitted a Transmission Deep Pan, fluid bypass upgrade and a Fleece Performance coolant bypass. Then we added a full set of Black Market Performance filtration systems including coolant, oil, primary fuel and secondary fuel because clean systems mean clean power. Add the FASS 100GPH fuel system and now this Cummins breathes like it’s standing on top of a Montana mountain.

Then came the big lift. This Ram received a full GVM upgrade to 5550 kg, built around a BDS 3-inch kit with Fox 2.5 Performance Elite shocks, King Springs, a Fox ATS stabiliser and full SSM engineering compliance. Pair that with Boss Airbags and an in-cab controller, and this ute is ready to tow like a ranch horse that’s had its morning oats and is looking for work. We rounded it out with Method MR305 wheels wrapped in Toyo tyres and a fresh set of Bushwacker flares to fit the new stance. Add on the ARB AirLocker Front and Rear locking both wheels on an axle together, providing maximum traction for extreme off-road conditions like rocks, mud, or steep hills, by ensuring both wheels receive power even if one loses grip – this rig can take on the most challenging terrain.

On the touring side, this build is stacked. A Titan long-range tank keeps you moving far beyond the bitumen. An Irvin bullbar and a Carbon Offroad winch sit proudly up front, backed by a full Baja Designs light package controlled through a Switch Pros SP 9100 system. Up top sits an Offroad Creative roof rack, paired with an ORI roll cover over the tub. Power is sorted with a 701 Lithium dual battery system with REDARC DC DC charging, a 370 amp billet alternator, multiple Anderson plugs and full 12V tub power to make this a rolling off-grid command centre. For comms, it is fully equipped with a GME XRS pack, Cel Fi R41 booster and even a Starlink Mini on an Offroad Creative mount for when you’re deep in the bush but still need to stream… well, Yellowstone.
